Self Check-In Guide

Finding Us

Your phone’s navigation will typically take you to the beginning of our gravel road (right next to the county park ‘s wooden sign).  You will want to take a right onto our gravel road and proceed to the left at the Y, then past our house (following the signs to Zen Acres).   After passing the house you will see the self check-in Kiosk and firewood station on the right, with a small parking area.

Checking In

Park next to the kiosk, and visit the main board to find your check in envelope.  It will have your site # and first name on it.  Simply take and keep the envelope and its contents.  Please be sure to grab your envelope.  This lets us know you have arrived.  Inside, you will find a printed map of the camping area & rules, and sometimes there will be additional information or announcements that pertain to your site, that particular time period, and/or anything else specific to your stay.  Once you have grabbed your envelope (and firewood if applicable), please proceed down the gravel road (approx. 1/4 mile) to the main camping area.  Next to each campsite is a small wooden post with the site name and number on it.

Check-In Time

You may arrive any time between 2pm and 10pm. If you will be arriving later than 8pm, please give us a heads up through the Hipcamp message system to let us know. There is no issue with arriving after 8pm, but we do like to have a heads-up. To avoid disturbing other guests, we ask that you please not arrive later than 10pm.

Self-Serve Firewood Station

Next to the check-in kiosk you will find a rack of firewood.  Each bay is 12 X 12 (i.e. a standard camper’s bundle of firewood).  There is a self serve pay station on the side.  If you are purchasing wood, simply fill out the envelope, enclose your payment, and take your wood.  If you have already pre-paid for wood through Hipcamp, your envelope will indicate the number of bundles in red.  Simply grab the number of bundles you had pre-paid and write “pre-paid through Hipcamp” on the envelope.  Firewood Info.pdf

Settling In

Once you get settled into your campsite, feel free to explore the camping area using the provided map. With a few clearly marked exceptions, the lower camping area is open for our camper’s to explore and relax.  We will typically stop by at some point for a quick face to face hello, and to make sure you got settled in ok.  Throughout your stay, feel free to waive us down if you see us pass by, and/or message us through the Hipcamp app if you need anything.  Camp Map & Info

Relax & Enjoy!

Our goal is that you thoroughly enjoy your visit, and come to love the peace and tranquility we experience here.  This project is a work in progress, and we are always very interested in feedback, suggestions, and ideas.  Long term our goal is to develop some type of membership system for return visitors, and to build a community of campers who travel this path with us.  If that is something that may be of interest to you, please let us know and we can keep you updated as this project develops.
